According to SANY Heavy Energy’s official website, internationally renowned media outlet Windpower Monthly has announced the winners of the “2024 Turbines of the Year” awards. SANY Heavy Energy’s SI-270150 wind turbine earned the Gold Award in the “Best Onshore Turbine (5.91MW+)” category, recognized for its outstanding innovation, engineering excellence, and performance. This marks the second consecutive international accolade for SANY’s large-megawatt onshore turbines, following the award-winning SI-230100 model in 2023.
The SI-270150 is a flagship model developed on SANY’s versatile 12.X–16.X MW onshore and offshore platform. It boasts a design life of 25–30 years, a rotor diameter of 270 meters, and a sweeping area of 57,256 square meters—equivalent to eight standard football fields. With the ability to operate across a wide range of medium- to high-wind conditions, it is currently the largest installed onshore wind turbine in the world in terms of single-unit capacity and rotor diameter.
Windpower Monthly, established in 1985, is a globally recognized authority in the wind energy sector, known for its focus on wind technology, market developments, and policy analysis. The “Turbines of the Year” awards are highly regarded across the industry for their independence, professionalism, and international credibility—serving as a “gold standard” for evaluating turbine technology.
Winning the Gold Award for two consecutive years not only affirms SANY Heavy Energy’s leading position in the large-megawatt wind power segment but also enhances the global presence of Chinese wind energy brands through recognition on a world-class platform. Looking ahead, SANY will continue to pursue innovation-driven strategies, solidify its leadership in clean energy, and contribute powerful momentum to the global green energy transition.
