The UK Steps Up Efforts to Expand Energy Storage Infrastructure

According to China’s National Energy Administration and the UK government website (gov.uk), UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Ed Miliband, met with his Chinese counterparts in Beijing to relaunch formal energy and climate dialogues. During his visit to the National Energy Administration (NEA) of China, Secretary Miliband attended the UK-China Energy Dialogue, which he co-chaired with NEA Administrator Wang Xiangxi.
The two sides discussed a wide range of topics, including clean energy technologies, pathways for energy transition (such as coal phase-out), energy security, and global energy governance.
At the conclusion of the dialogue, Secretary Miliband and Administrator Wang signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on UK-China Clean Energy Partnership, committing both countries to enhanced cooperation in renewable energy, grid modernization, and clean technologies.
In parallel with the ministerial meetings, Mr. George Wang, MD of Sustainability Energy Innovation (SEI), accompanied a delegation from the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (ORE Catapult) on visits to the Beijing headquarters of SANY Renewable Energy and Goldwind, aiming to further promote UK-China collaboration in the field of clean energy.
